Istanbul

This year we got to spend Easter in Istanbul. What an interesting and huge city (where more than 14 million people live). Our hotel was located in Karaköy, close from the renown Galata tower. Unexpectedly that neighbourhood turned out to be pretty hip and lively. a few good coffee spots, bars and cute boutiques. there was marvellous marble all over the city. everywhere you walk. Other than drinking juice and coffee we visited the beautiful church Hagia Sophia, the massive Topkapi palace, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazar, we went to the Asian side of Istanbul and did a cruise on the Bosphorus. On our last night we enjoyed dinner in the Maidens tower, in the middle of the Bosphorus, it was beautiful to see all the lights from the top of the tower.
I'm sure there are plenty of more things to do / see, but here's a selection of the spots I liked..

my favourite coffee spot:

MÜZ, Botanik & Kahve

cute coffee spot with an atelier downstairs, where they manufacture beautiful pottery. I bought a vase.

and just a little further down the street from MÜZ, there's a lovely cold pressed juice bar:

Ananas juice bar
I had their almond milk. very reasonable prices!! I liked their date sweetened almond milk.

Kronotrop

was a recommendation by a barista of another coffee shop. So we tried it. It's located close to a little park and very nice sitting outside.. a bit away from the bustling shopping streets. they sell magazines and coffee gear too
walk a little further down and you can reach one of the few organic stores in Istanbul:

BALYA organik
